"It's pretty offensive, isn't it?" Khan said of the message on the back of the shirt. "Particularly in a school setting where you are trying to create an atmosphere where people are supposed to respect each other and live with each other, where we have people of every ethnicity and every religion."
And is that why Christians can walk freely in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Indonesia? That's why they can practice their religion without fear of reprisal or attack? I forgot Islam is a beacon for atmospheres "where people are supposed to respect each other and live with each other, where we have people of every ethnicity and every religion."
What a load of garbage. Having a shirt saying "Islam is of the Devil" is somehow worse than whole Christian villages wiped out in Pakistan? It's worse than forcing Christians to live on reservations and not to be able to publicly display their religion in Saudi Arabia? It's somehow worse than Christians being executed for bogus crimes by the government of Indonesia just because of their faith? And yet this bullshit is in the news while no one cares about any of the Islamic persecution of Christians. Please.
Let me ask this: If a Muslim wore a shirt that said "Christianity is of the Devil" in even a "progressive" (and I use that word with extreme hesitation) Muslim country like Turkey, would he have been sent out of school? No way, Jose. So why should we be held to a higher standard?
In solidarity with both free speech, free religion, and opposition to Islamic hypocrisy, I'm going to wear my Kafir (and damn proud) t-shirt Tuesday. I hope someone tries to stop me.
