Of course not. That's why we have doctors. It sucks to have to pay a computer person to do something, but that's why they're there. If you can't do it, you will only make things a lot harder for them when you eventually have to take it into them anyways .
Think to yourself. If this was a living thing, would I continue to tinker with it with the knowledge I have? No? Then maybe I should take it in. No, it doesn't matter as much if you DO wait and end up killing your computer, of course. But it's a good way to decide for you whether you should keep tinkering or not.

I get just as frustrated at stuff like this as everynametaken, albeit mostly with animals and not computers. Although, hell, I'm the "computer person" to a lot of people I know, so I get frustrated with them too
