They could halve their support and still increase their seats at the next election.
I think it would taint them going into the almost inevitable election in 6 months or so. A coalition like that would not last long. I've lived through a few very similar ones.
The Libs have been talking about PR as part of a deal if there were ever a hung parliment as long as i can remember. It's almost expected of them, or that's the feeling i get. If the Libs go with Labur and get the referendum on Change, it's say it goes to form no one is really surprised, and i don't see much of a taint. I can remember being at school and talking about Lib Dems and PR and it being the price of their co-operation, and that was a few years ago now.
Obviously i don't know for certain but it's how i read the situation.
Lib Dems: Up 1% of the vote, down 10% of the seats.
