Live close to the Mexican border and then weigh in on the issue. Illegal immigration is a HUGE problem. Undocumented workers are only making the unemployment problem bigger. Oh, and just a little tiny note, the drug cartels involved in the drug trade from Mexico are INSANE! (By the way, people who dabble in "recreational" drugs, do you know you are furthering the slaughter of thousands of people every year?)
it seems to me the point of this law is to (potentially) deport every illegal alien the police can find. that's the intent of the law.
in reality, this gives police an excuse to ask anyone they want to show citizenship papers or risk arrest. if the point is to stop the flow of illegal immigrants into this country, the state should be arresting the businesses who employ illegal aliens, not the illegal aliens themselves.
people are going to keep coming in illegally as long as there is an economic incentive on both sides of the issue. i.e. -- if there is work to be found, illegals will do whatever they can to get that work. if businesses can hire illegals without having to worry about the law coming down on them, they will.
