There are a number of classic H.P. Lovecraft short stories Tom Send a noteboard - 11/04/2010 03:38:28 PM
"The Call of Cthulhu" itself is, of course a classic. Others that I would personally suggest:

"The Horror at Red Hook" (perhaps my favorite)
"Herbert West - Reanimator"
"Pickman's Model"
"The Shadow over Innsmouth" (another very popular classic)
"The Thing on the Doorstep"
"At the Mountains of Madness"
"The Festival"
"The Rats in the Walls"
"The Dunwich Horror" (extremely popular)

A slightly longer story that I originally bought in a separate book is "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward". I think it's appreciated best if you've read 4-5 of the stories above first.

If you buy any of the popular anthologies you'll probably get most of those stories as they're the most famous and popular.
Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.

– Procopius

Ummaka qinnassa nīk!

"Arkham" is a fictional city created by Lovecraft. It's where Arkham Asylum gets it's name. - 12/04/2010 05:27:16 PM 544 Views
