My guess would be that it sounded better that way in French, though I can't pinpoint exactly why. It just does to my ear...
Perhaps because the past tense made it sound more like the title of a "conte" (the English "fairy tale" doesn't convey well what I mean", more in the mood of the (French) titles for books 2-3.
Since the publisher was releasing the three books together, it may just have been done because this way it fitted more with the titles of book 2 (the French title of book 3 doesn't have any verb, but has the same "conte urbain" vibe).
