Follow the link for first looks at the UK cover art from Chris Wooding's THE BLACK LUNG CAPTAIN (the sequel to one of last year's finest novels, RETRIBUTION FALLS), Scott Bakker's DISCIPLE OF THE DOG (his new stand-alone thriller, unrelated to his Earwa books) and Brandon Sanderson's THE WAY OF KINGS.
I like the Bakker, the Wooding looks good but needs to be finalized and blown up in more detail, and the Sanderson is not that great. It's not bad per se, but the ethereal white-lit look doesn't really fit Sanderson's traditional epic fantasy style, and was better employed on the MISTBORN trilogy.
