I got done with this last week or so. It was quite a pageturner. Though I had read it years ago I found the story very good again. I must have read really fast last time I read it because I actually remembered very little from my last read.
Well essentially I would classify this as one of Stephen's science fiction books with definite bits and pieces of his trademark horror.
Without going into to much detail here The Tommyknockers is the story of Haven, Maine a small town barely on the map. Haven undergoes radical technological advancement and the residents all "become" a hybrid of some alien culture and human because the local celebrity unearths a UFO on her property. She undergoes changes both radical and disgusting. Along with the whole town as well.
I thought it was a great pageturner. Definitely a good read for those who haven't read some of Stephens older work.
