I was going to tell you guys more about it but I lost heart half way through it for some random reason.
Ok so The Story of Edgar Sawtelle is about a boy born mute, his familly lives on an old farm with the dogs they breed for a living. As you might guess it is a great dog book and even comes in the perspective of a dog for some chapters.
Edgar leads a happy life until his uncle, Claude, shows up. Edgar(as well as the reader) has mixed feelings about Claude at first, shifting from likeable to not and then eventually staying down in the not category.
Claude stays with them for a while and things begin to go wrong, Claude and Edgars father Gar, do not get along very well at all so when Gar dies you have to suspect Claude of murder.
When Edgar tries to prove this his plan backfires and he must run away.
This is the saddest, most depressing, best, saddest, happiest, best saddest book I have ever read.
It is full of ghosts, some sort of magic, and dogs(Yay!!!)
I highly suggest reading this novel, there are so many twists and turns and unexpected umm things(? I didn't want to use twists twice in one sentence)
I really don't want to give anymore away but at the death of Gar Claude tries to work himself into the family and the love of edgars mother.
An American Hamlett.....

The answers to all life's questions are in the stars...
If only we could read them.
If only we could read them.
Will I get yelled at if I mention something that isn't high-fantasy?
