I read the first five Sword of Truth books on the repeated insistence of a friend that they were really good. (So you're not his only fan, Kotagg )
The first one was ok. Not really good, but readable. Each progressive volume got worse. His conclusions are terribly contrived and he is unable to make me care about his characters at all.
This is all just my opinion of course, and I am glad that some people do find enjoyment in his books, but I gave him his "honest read" and he couldn't deliver.
