Of all the people on this site, your book/tv/movie tastes are the most like mine. So, you willing to go from being Adam to Amy?? LOL
Mote in God's Eye (Larry Niven & Jerry Pournelle) - yes, about fifteen years ago.

Red Seas Under Red Skies (Scott Lynch) - yes, it was weaker than the first one.

Off Armageddon Reef (David Weber) - own but haven't read yet

The Steel Remains (Richard K. Morgan) - yes, it was decent but a major step down in quality from his SF.

The Temporal Void (Peter F. Hamilton) - yes, it was pretty good, his best book since PANDORA'S STAR.

The Judging Eye (R. Scott Bakker) - yes, pretty accomplished. Less epic than the trilogy but still intriguing.

Misspent Youth (Peter F. Hamilton) - yes. His weakest novel but also probably his most prescient. Shared a beer with PFH at this year's Gollancz Party and talked about the book. He seemed gleeful that his worst book (by his own admission) also seemed to be the one that was going to be proved the most accurate (about file-sharing and the destruction of the traditional media model, even if the truth doesn't look like it's going to be as bad as he makes out in the book).

A Second Chance at Eden (Peter F. Hamilton) - yes, reread this year as well. Superb.

Neuropath (R. Scott Bakker) - got about 1/4 of the way through it before the intellectual self-congratulation got too much. Seriously Scott, you're not the first person to have this idea and whilst interesting, it's not quite as astonishing as you think it is.

The Confederation Handbook (Peter F. Hamilton) - pretty good, but the type of book that's now kind of redundant that we have Wikipedia and fan wikis.

Troy: Lord of the Silver Bow (David Gemmell) - excellent, a fine opening to Gemmell's final work.

The Magic of Recluce (L.E. Modesitt, Jr.) - read this many years ago. It was okay, but not outstanding.

The Gathering Storm (Robert Jordan & Brandon Sanderson) - pretty much excellent, and definitely one of the top epic fantasies of the year.
Death to the Regressives of the GOP and the TeaParty. No mercy for Conservatives. Burn them all at the stake for the hateful satanists they are.
