You cannot count the actual removal of trees to taht list, as the CO2 remains in the pulp. Once made, however, the book remains neutral, whereas an e-book reader always requires electricity.
Once made. How much energy goes into the creation of the book? My Kindle can hold 1500 books. While energy goes into its creation as well, far less energy is used to deliver 1500 books to my device than to create the books.
Sorry, your argument is not sound. I am not arguing about the feel or touch of books here. To each his/her own. We all have preferences. But my Kindle is much more environmentally friendly than your paper books.

If I were buying a book for mandatory reading (i.e., college), I might consider an e-book.

True. But there's no tangible difference between music from an iPod and music from a CD.
