I have to be honest. I have really been let down lately. First, based on recommendations from the fine folks on wotm...oops I mean rafo. I recently tried Glen Cook's Black Company books. What the heck is this? It is so scattered and rushed. And then I tried Gene Wolf's The Knight. What is going on with these authors? Why is everything so rushed?
Granted the Black Company books got really repetitive at the end. But I didn't find either to be rushed.
So does this mean we all are noobs now?

A few years ago, I tried reading it on my lunch breaks. I always spent most of my time rereading.
