Just finished it. Didn't hate it, but it wasn't as good as ASOS. But then, it never could be because it wasn't the climax of the original plotline. Random thoughts:
- I think the book's a lot more enjoyable when a) you don't have to wait 5 years for it and b) you know half the characters aren't gonna be in it. I also think that while the Greyjoy/Dorne plotlines are both fairly good, they'd be a lot better if they'd had one overriding POV character. The way it was turned out a bit messy.
- Only three chapters of Arya? And you blind her with over 100 pages left and then never return?! Bad author! No cookies for author!
- Jaime kicks so much ass. Especially in his last two chapters. Punching Ryman Frey "With a trebuchet" "Put it in the fire"
- Ooh, which reminds me. Cersei, bugger off. Her capture by the Septons is the best thing since Joffrey's death
- From one of the online spoiler chapters: Oh, Theon! Look what they've done to you! Please end up stabbing Ramsay in the head.
- Any ideas what word Brienne shouted? I assume it's gonna get her out of her predicament somehow.
- Asha Greyjoy reminds me of me. She's awesome.
That's it. And now I join the waiting hordes.

Couldn't "Kingslayer" or "Jaime" (as in going after him) have saved her too? *NM*

Wikipedia's entry on Brienne indicates "Arya" is a good candidate

Exactly, and Cat was initially perfectly content to let her go if she agreed to kill Jaime.
