I don't care much for Karsa Orlong. But since I liked the previous books;
Am I going to like Karsa Orlong as the book progresses? Should I just keep reading? Should I only read the parts that don't feature Karsa Orlong? Should I just start with the next book? (Midnight Tides?) Or should I just pray Dance of Dragons will be here soon?
I thank thee.

I don't know if you'll ever like him, but you'll appreciate him more as a character as the series progresses. I'm big on reading the series in order for little bits of clarity that it will shed in the proceeding books.
Don't remember this one having a huge impact on Midnight Tides, but I'd still read them in order. Midnight Tides was much better in my opinion. New characters there are much more fun to read (Tehol and Bug especially).
I'm having some trouble with House of Chains.

Well, he'll get a smaller role, but you need to read the bits about him

I've always had trouble getting past Memories of Ice and into House of Chains

You might wanna consider skipping ahead to the main storyline, then.
