DUNE is good. Kevin J. Anderson is a hack of the highest order. - Edit 1

Kevin J. Anderson is a hack writer of extremely limited ability. He and Brian Herbert have milked the DUNE name, formerly one of the most prestigious in science fiction, and turned it into an utter joke. They lied to the fanbase, claming they had 'detailed notes' about where Frank Herbert was going to take the series. This turned out to be pure BS when it was exposed a couple of years back.

DUNE is a classic SF novel and some of the sequels are decent. The PRELUDE trilogy is okay, although a bit weird (funny how the Atreides' closest allies, the Vernius, never came to their aid on Arrakis though ). Everything else they've written has been utterly unreadable. The LEGENDS OF DUNE trilogy is one of the worst things I've ever written and is not internally consistent nor consistent with the other DUNE books at all. It reads like very bad DUNE fanfic written by someone's who's primary inspiration is THE MATRIX.
