While there is some good stuff, I kind of feel that after the first one, she just wrote the same book over and over. There is some plot to kill Arithon set up at the beginning of the book. It is clever, and he almost falls for it. Lots of people die and he gets away to brood a little while longer ... Oh yes, he will also be denied something he really wants or loves for no real reason.
I admit that while I am reading the books, I usually enjoy the experience. But in the end, the pacing is kind of slow and after I read them, I am like, well, she has written lots of words, but I am not closer to understanding what she is trying to say or any kind of conclusion then after I read the first book.

To everything there is a season --- football season, pre-season and off season.

I much prefered her Cycle of Fire trilogy. It had sorcery, spaceships, and aliens.
