I do listen to his podcast "writing excuses". I really should read something of his before I read his WOT book. I don't think it would fare to judge a writer by how well he finishes something that big and unmanageable.
Yeah, definitely check out his Mistborn Trilogy. I also thought Elantris was excellent, as well as Warbreaker. Basically, I have a bit of a bromance with the guy's writing style.
