She was finishing the Lord of the Rings for the first time as I was reading The Hobbit. She always said it was a shame she didn't discover reading until she was that age. I thank her for introducing me to it early.
Also, I think I'll make sure my kids read The Fionovar Tapestry by GGK. Maybe get them started into the dark fantasy stuff early.
