I'd never heard of Sanderson until the Wot news. I've read all his stuff. All three of my daughters (15, 13, 11) (and me too) have enjoyed his Alcatraz series. Choosing/changing talents is a common topic of conversation.....
My oldest (15) has read and is anxiously waiting for the next Rothfuss novel.
None of my kids have been able to stick through WoT.

Harry Potter is remarkably dark for bedtime story age, I think. *NM*

The first two not so much. Read them to my sister when she was 8. *NM*

I'm trying to decide whether I should read Sanderson before or after I get round to TGS.

I think I would prefer my children (non-existent) to discover for themselves
