But since we all read WoT around here, we gotta have decent taste, right? ;)

I actually bought the DVD for my step-dad for Christmas right after it came out, because he is the person who infected me with the love of fantasy and scifi when I was a kid. So he loves this stuff too. My family watched it together and LOVED it, so now I'm interested in picking up the book. Being on a pretty strict budget, nothing irritates me more than spending money on a book and it's not worth it.

Still interested in opinions, of course, but thanks again for the replies!
