In all seriousness. Charles Vess's illustrations are, in my opinion, half of the beauty and enchantment of the story. And looking at the novelization compared to the graphic novel, I just don't see how it could possibly be as thick a book as it is unless stuff was added... but I haven't read it, as I mentioned, so it is possible I've misjudged.
