3. The pacing of the book is terrible, particularly at the end where Dracula is killed quickly and without much drama. There is also virtually no drama when the book shifts from being what could be a story like Foucault's Pendulum where the whole premise of the story is a hoax, to being a horror story with a real vampire in it. The shock of that moment could have been handled better.
Yeah. And I agree with the post after this as well, for the huge buildup to the scary Dracula, him wanting a personal librarian was a bit awesome. And everyone was pretty much like "Nope. Bram Stoker said you were bad so nope." And then stuff happened quickly and in less than a half an hour into my 12+ hour audiobook, he came he saw and he died (or did he...).
I would like to travel to all those old monestaries and such now. Maybe someday I'll find a book with a dragon in it.
The Historian - Elizabeth Kostova *spoilers* I'm sure
