View original postI never got too in depth into book discussions on this site, and I'm not sure if I ever started a full discussion on my own. But, in the spirit of rekindling RAFO, I'm gonna give it a shot. So, please bare with me.
View original postThat's right, get your kit off and let's get down to business
View original postWell, so far I have only read Chapter One. Wheels do not turn, ages do not come and pass, and most importantly, winds do not blow and meander along aimlessly before Sanderson sets up his world. Ash falls, mists at night. Two main classes of people. Slaves and Lords. I'm immediately drawn in.
View original postBut now I need your help. First, does anyone even want to discuss/read along with me? If so, what is the best way to organise this - a few chapters/sections at a time in posts below?(e.g. 'Chapter 1' Discussion, and so on) Random discussion? Themes? Although themes would be hard when I haven't read the whole book.
View original postWe've all grown older I think and good lord, my heady carefree college days are long over, so I may not be able to post or even read the book every single day, but I hope we can get some decent discussions going on this board again. And if I start to slack in my thread, go ahead and carry on without me!

His writing is better when it's his own work, but your criticisms are still going to be valid.

He's a storyteller, not a shrink or novelist that tries to make points (political or societal).

Hmm, I'd love to do this. I don't have my copy of Mistborn though.

I've nearly finished it now, but I think it will be easier to discuss that way
