I have never read it, so I couldn't ay anything as to your theory, but I did enjoy reading it. I think theorizing in such depth shows how much of an impact the book had on you. The books that make us stop and think/reflect in depth are the best ones, the books that stick with us for the rest of our lives.

But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...
