I appreciate that, thank you. Jasha Send a noteboard - 07/01/2014 07:45:22 PM

View original postI've done neither, actually. The concept of uniformed heroes and the typical adventures they have, hasn't appealed to me since about 1992, so I ignored the movie. And I don't read comic books, in general, for the same reason. Still, I understand how disappointing it can be when something you adore is screwed up.

Though if you dislike the usual superhero movie, you're liable to actually like this movie, it throws away 99.9% of the superhero tropes. It's about how things would go if actual people decided to become superheros and what would happen to then and the world they live in as a result of it.

Plus, if you like movies as art, it's beautifully done, and unlike so many movies today, it's actually scored well. I was about 2 minutes into this movie, which I had gone into sure I was going to hate, when I realized, no, no, this is fabulously well done.

And yes, I was sure I would hate this movie. I had avoided watching it for almost 3 years after it's release. I only watched it to see if one of the actors could act. (Having watched another movie which had convinced me to HATE this actor.)

Now it's one of the 4 movies I've ever bought in my life.
