Though with Goodreads I usually turn to it after reading or mid-read. A lot of times I'll get halfway through something and want to see if others agree with my impressions. Especially if the writer does a lot of Author Tract which I find increasingly annoying as the years go by.

In terms of new books to read though, from authors or series I haven't read, almost entirely from here.
How "new" is new for you, though? I'm used to seeing early 2013 releases being discussed at some places as almost "older" books, since their blogs/sites are oriented toward the just-released.
