But then, for a few years now I've been reading primarily older classics with new or even older but less widely known books taking up only a relatively small percentage of my reading. And like I dare say is the case for most of us, I have a long list of both older and newer books that I still intend to read - with an increasing number of those which I actually own already, that obviously pushes me a bit more to read them...
I do have a Goodreads account and occasionally find recommendations there from friends' bookshelves or reviews, but other than that, yeah, still the people here. It helps a lot to sell me on a book if it's recommended by someone whose taste I know and respect, and that mostly still means the people here, plus the handful of ex-wotmaniacs and others that I follow on Goodreads.

View original postWhere do you go? Do you still depend upon people here for book recs? Is there another site you favor? Is it Twitter, Facebook, and Goodreads the main sources for book information? Just curious.

But of course sometimes it's just a review that I read in the newspaper, or a book that I see advertised in a bookstore. All in all, not really feeling the need for any more extensive lists of recommendations...
Might be because I detest rating systems and those seem to be the most visible aspect of the site
