Set in the early 2040s, it's about a video game contest in which the prize is controlling ownership in the company whose virtual reality game is the most popular in the world. So popular that most people on the planet live their lives in it. The recently-deceased owner, who came of age in the 1980s, gave the contest, an "Easter Egg hunt", an 80s' theme, so to win, one must know the tiniest details of 80s pop culture.

As someone who came of age in the 1980s, I am thoroughly enjoying this story. But you don't have to have my frame of reference to enjoy it (although you may not get every reference). If you're a gamer, whether video or RP (which I suspect many here are), there's plenty to identify with. Plus the writing and plotting is very straightforward and the author gives just the right amount of explanation for some of the slightly more obscure pop culture references.

I'm only about half-way though the book and I am really enjoying it. I find it to be a really fun read.
