Jean's visit to the artificer was pretty much great from start to finish - with the girl on his boat and her description of "the Quill-Pen Rebellion", and of course Jean's unorthodox departure from the artificer's residence, standing out as high points.
The Archon's palace sounds quite interesting, the longest description I can recall Lynch giving of any place. Not sure I find the Archon himself or the plotlines involving him that interesting, though. Similarly, Requin is mostly overshadowed by Selendri so far.
And then the Amusement War section, a way of playing up Locke's Robin Hood tendencies again, and building up tension about what on earth the point of those chairs will be.
