I'm another of those non-Austen readers Stephen Send a noteboard - 03/07/2013 05:12:53 PM

I do have all her books on my Kindle, but I've never read more than a dozen pages of any of her books. I like her prose but I've never quite felt compelled to read the entirety of any of her books.

As for adaptations, I've seen the Keira Knightley Pride and Prejudice film and the Romola Garai Emma series, but I have to say Clueless is my favourite adaptation in the same way as the Lion King is a great version of Hamlet.

My opinions about the horror-ification of Austen and other 19th century authors are that P&P&R was a funny concept but that the amount of stories adapted is at the point of overkill by now.
