Also did an amazing job patching up the canon-damage and plot holes Lucas left in his wake.
The Darth Bane trilogy is good, though the first is best and the last weakest.
Stover's Revenge of the Sith novelization s much better than the film and is good read before Rise of Darth Vader and after Labyrinth of Evil. They serve as an effective repair trilogy to the film.
The Dark Forces Trilogy, along with Dark Empire, Crimson Empire and Tales of the Jedi, all audio dramas of comic books, are cheesy as hell but still pretty good.
The New Jedi Order series never did much for me but is pretty popular, and the Legacy of the Force nonet starts strong but goes down hill toward the end, the Fate of the Jedi nonet is much heavy on the Jedi vs Sith stuff and runs along fairly solidly.
And of course the Thrawn Trilogy, sort of a must read for any post-movies Star Wars Expanded Universe stuff.
