View original postI finished my semester and now it's summer break, I don't have an internship or job yet, so I have lots of time on my hands... And am spending it in what is possibly the least entertaining manner, by doing a spring cleaning of my possessions, and getting rid of all the excess crap I've accumulated.
View original postNow, with most of these things I know what to do. If I haven't used, seen it, or thought of it in a couple of years, then it's nothing more than glorified trash. But I can't bring myself to do that with books. So what do you all do when confronted with such a situation? How did you deal with childhood books, or random nonfiction books that, due to their simplicity, have been rendered obsolete by wikipedia and the internet? Or foreign language books in a language you can read only very slowly? The latter I'm going to keep, as an investment until I get around to improving my reading speed, but they take up so much space that I'm still tempted to prune things a bit.
View original postAnyone else experience these problems? I'm not looking for help or even advice, mainly just interested in how everyone else handled this inevitable step in their lives.

If I enjoy books I keep them. If I hate them I give them to charity or to unsuspecting friends.
