I started my reread of Polgara and the first few chapters are awful Isaac Send a noteboard - 13/04/2013 09:36:01 PM

The majority of the book is just fine or even quite good, but everything she does until she leaves her stewardship at Riva makes her out as a petty harpy and the various retconning in requires you not to ponder things like how Poledra's shoe-horned in regular presence and instruction is not only grossly unnecessary but totally destroys any vaguely legit reason for Polgara to be angry at her father.
