Not a TV series, movie series or video game...and not really even based on a radio show.

The Hitchhiker's Guide books are so far from what Isaac was getting at that I don't know how/why jh could say they violated Rule 2. First, it was radio. Second, the author was the same for both (as opposed to "this is a novel written in the Star Wars universe by a guy who writes other stuff and who was hired by the publishing company with Star Wars distribution rights to make something that got blessed by Lucas and his team", which is totally different). Third, the series was totally reworked and changed when translated into book form (as opposed to, "Hey, Star Wars Episode XVIII just came out in theatres and we want to milk this franchise even more, could you just write it as a book?", which is totally different).
Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.

So you're looking for series that are not yet on your list, yes? I'm a little confused.

Fair point, could be useful to point to whenever people ask the same question of what to read next.

I think it was a not so snarky way of saying Hitchhiker's Guide started as a radio show. *NM*

Clarke wrote both, so is the book really anything more than a novelization of the screenplay? *NM*
