Well I put LotR on there, I suppose I should have said 'Middle Earth', Hobbit isn't really a prequel since it was written first and you've got Simillarion and Children of Hurin plus lost tales, it seems a legit inclusion under Rule 1, but probably more importantly if it wasn't on there I'd probably get a bunch of posts including it as an assumed 'oh duh'. But I confess the guideline is pretty arbitrary, especially since a lot of those series have combined word counts parallel to single books out of lot of the modern door-stoppers.
