I'd been expecting some recent series, not some massive collections of books spanning decades and beginning before I was born. I didn't recognize a single title for sure, though a few of the covers looked familiar.

Lucky you

Apparently, they don't sound very appetizing.

He'd plot out a book in detail then take a bunch of drugs and write a book in one sitting. I don't know how true that story is, but it was quite entertaining.

Well, depending on book length, and assuming he wasn't editing, it isn't totally impossible that someone might spew out a hundred thousand words in a single day, for later editing, assuming they were a fast typer and pretty much had fingers going non-stop. I could see someone seriously stoned pulling that off, I just wouldn't expect it to be readable :P
