It says "brossura" but it's the I Meridiani edition, which is the Italian equivalent of the Pléiade series in French. All of the volumes are supposed to be leather bound and in a slipcase (like Pléiade), and I notice that they are catalogued in various ways - "brossura", "rilegato", "rilegatura in pelle" - but all have the same cost (55 euro). The selections are very limited as of now, but I ordered (hoping that even the "brossura" would be leather bound) Ariosto, Lampedusa, Calvino and Marco Polo in that series and crossed my fingers. There is apparently a cheaper version called I Meridiani Collezione, but those are supposed to only cost about 15 euro. I am either going to be royally ripped off by amazon.it or find a complement to the Pléiade books for Italian.

When importing, I often check ABEbooks because they usually have more specific descriptions of the book type than Amazon's various sites do. Helpful when tracking down certain publishers/editions.

From the aesthetic point of view I think that Ariosto is recognized as the best. - 23/12/2012 02:54:43 PM 873 Views

Since it's a short book I might just buy a paperback and hope Dumbarton Oaks issues a hardcover. - 23/12/2012 07:29:52 PM 769 Views
