A cool tidbit about the Archive, from the author.

Just spent the last 15 minutes trying to track down the damn quote, but I couldn't find it. But it's from Jim Butcher's message boards.
He was asked about the Oblivion War (the secret war to make humanity forget about ancient evil gods and, in doing so, kill them). And since he doesn't foresee it being part of the main DF storyline, he let out this tidbit:
The Archive was created for the Oblivion War. Specifically. All the stuff about "preserving mankind's knowledge" and being a "neutral force to collect information" is all smokescreen.
What happens is, a god is erased from all records. Humanity forgets, but the Archive retains knowledge of the god's existence. Time passes- 500, a thousand years. If during that whole time, there hasn't been a trace of that entity, then the Archive considers it well and truly dead and forgotten, and deletes the memory of that being from its memory.
(The Archive also helps coordinate the Oblivion War- is able to monitor communications of any potential enemies, for one thing. She then gives orders to "cells," such as Lara and Thomas, via dead-drops. Kinkaid knows nothing of this, and just follows her orders.
Neat, huh?

My point was, the Parasite predates Lash. I agree she wouldn't have been able to fix LC
