Duncton Wood: How have I never heard of this? (Seriously not a rhetorical question.) - Edit 1

It is a fantasy trilogy. The first book was written in 1989.

Its five stars in Amazon are completely filled with that orangey-gold color. (Out of 72 reviews, 64 are five stars, 4 are four stars, and only 1 is one star.)

Its characters are mildly anthropomorphic moles, but Redwall, Watership Down, and the Dun Cow have all been among my favorite series over the last two decades.

Okay, so maybe I haven't frequented this board so much recently, but I was on the Other Fantasy board all the time for years back when wotmania was booming. Maybe it was mentioned by someone at some point, but I'm sure I'd remember it if it came in conversation very much at all. I'm sure I'd have read it.

So there's got to be something about this novel that makes it slip through the cracks of scifi/fantasy discussion. Have you ever heard of this series? If so, can you explain how its invisibility cloak works?
