I've read two history books and two Sci-Fi books:
Geoffrey Blainey: A Very Short History of the World
Björn Kumm: Terrorismens historia (~"The history of Terrorism" )
Ursula K. LeGuin: City of Illusions
Ursula K. LeGuin: The Telling
All were good and interesting books, but Blainey's book was too short for me.

Confused but on a higher level

Correct. I haven't been able to work out whether/how much they've modernised him.
