Which was a strange though enjoyable novel - some mixture of slapstick comedy, melodramatic soap opera, spy novel and entirely serious historical fiction (as you can tell from the sub-title, it's set in Madrid immediately before the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, and it had me reading up and checking facts on Wikipedia a lot).
Next up: Maybe give Thomas Pynchon's Mason & Dixon another pass. I'll see if I can get my hands on The Sparrow in time for the Book Club (or in time to show up fashionably late to the party, perhaps more likely).

Happy June! What are your reading plans for this month?
