I plan on reading several books few have heard of (yet), but which many may enjoy Larry Send a noteboard - 02/05/2012 03:49:44 AM
It's May already. Can you believe it?

What do you plan to read this month?

Finishing Enrique Vila-Matas' excellent Paris no se acaba nunca tonight.

Will start reading Portuguese writer David Soares Batalha shortly. He's one of the best "dark" fantasists writing today that have not yet been published in English translation.

Re-reading more stories from The Weird for commentaries on Weird Fiction Review.

Walter Mosley's The Gift of Fire/On the Head of a Pin (update on the old Ace Doubles; two related novellas in one book, each with its own cover/facing)

Granta's The Best of Young Spanish Language Novelists/Los mejores narradores jóvenes en español

Samuel Delany Through the Valley of the Nest of Spiders

Monica Ali, Alentejo Blue

Ann Patchett, Run

Joyce Carol Oates, Mudwoman

Victor Pelevin, The Helmet of Horror

Robert Pobi, Bloodman

Ben Lerner, Leaving Atocha Station

Nalo Hopkinson, Chaos

Gwyneth Jones, The Universe of Things

John Lewis Caddis, George F. Kennan

And likely many other books. I read 51 in April alone.
