I have been thinking about the endings too, and it has gotten me a bit concerned.

Personally, I have no idea who is supposed to be on a "good side" or a "bad side", given GRRM's tendency to present (almost) everybody as "kindy grey". His one attempt at a main character was killed at the end of book 1. The others are just a solid mess. Storytelling wise: what kind of ending would satisfy me as a reader, after having invested a large number of hours into reading it? I don't really see it. Would it be satisfying if Tyrion dies (which would almost certainly happen if the Lannisters are beaten)? If he lives? Same for almost any other character? I have no idea. What kind of role is Arya supposed to have? How to get closure on this?
Case in point for me: we get a huge number of chapters talking about Brienne, who starts with a purpose, then gets another purpose and something of a Quest. While going forward she dies. The End. What kind of storytelling is that?
Then again, I haven't gotten around to reading ADwD yet, so maybe that would change may perspective on all of this and those who have are now laughing at my ignorance...

I think that he has purposefully set his readers up so that they'd come to that conclusion.

I'd hope the Lannisters alone would have given them the impression inbreeding is a bad idea...

That would be so predictable and boring that I sincerely hope you are wrong. *NM*

It's going to be revealed through a Coldhands POV that the Others are actually the good guys.

Since you touch on the subject - the show has made me rethink Varys completely.
