It's more "urban fantasy," than "high," but it's quite good.

Snarky wizard detective! Think two parts Dirty Harry, one part Merlin, one part Spider-man.

You end up with a workaday wizard who solves mysteries, does cool magic stuff, and makes jokes to his enemies to piss them off.

Good times.
