Please recommend me fantasy books like Wheel of Time and Name of the Wind - Edit 2

I'm sorta well read in epic fantasy, but I've missed a lot of debuts in the last few years.
Anyway, I'm looking for books that are similar to Wheel of Time and Name of the Wind. Some books I know to be similar are Runelords, Way of Kings, Mistworld, and Dune (but looking for fantasy here).
The qualities I consider to be similar are-
-Fun characters (Kvothe and Mat Cauthon as opposed to Jon Snow)
-Epic fights and battles, the type legends are made out of (Mat Cauthon attacking the Stone of Tear)
-An interesting world with large pockets of peace that the story preferably starts out at (Emonds Field, The University)
-Either a coming war or future legendary status for the protags.
-Magic with characters who can use that magic
-Classic tropes are welcome. As long as they're done well.
-Humor!
Also, these books should probably have been released within the last 10 years, since I don't like a lot of fantasy before 2000.
So basically, if you're a fan of the two mentioned works, and you've read something that caused you to think to yourself, 'This is similar', that's probably what I'm looking for.
If you think Game of Thrones is what I'm looking for, then please ignore this thread.
Thanks to all.
