Have you ever started and stopped reading a book because you disliked it so much? Or do you make yourself finish all books you read? Or maybe you just haven't happened upon a book that you had this kind of reaction to - I don't recommend it.
Mostly they have Bern books that I pocked IP used at a consignment shop or free Kindle books so I never felt that I had to finish them. I don't think I have ever forced myself to finish a book that I'm not enjoying. That takes all the fun out of reading and, since I read for fun, it defeats the purpose of sitting quietly in a corner and holding a book.
Kirk: Spock, you want to know something? Everybody’s human.
Spock: I find that remark…insulting.
Spock: I find that remark…insulting.
Have you ever stopped reading a book because you really don't like it?

Reading anything Victorian or older in Dutch translation tends to be a bad idea, agreed.
