The link is to a blog post about the book that I really liked - it gives a bit of the context. In a way, Birthgrave is classical sword-and-sorcery pulp, similar to Conan the Barbarian, yet it subverts so many of the cliches.
What did you think of the ending? I know a lot of people hated it because it dispels a lot of mystery & mysticism, but I liked getting an explanation for everything.
