It's kind of hard to describe without coming off as gushing, but he just does subtleties of voice extremely well. The female characters sound feminine, without him doing a weird falsetto. Emotional moments have emotion. There are a few different accents in play, and he nails them.
I've actually been reluctant to listen to the newest book, Ghost Story, specifically because I know he was unable to record that one due to scheduling issues.

I amuse myself.

I just misspelled investigator with a c instead of the v and I can't stop laughing. It is early!
