Just a few cents per book, of course, so it doesn't add up to much for any but the most popular authors, but still.

The man has a point, but of course there's no practical solution for it, and people do still buy enough books that any halfway popular author can live off it... and as pointed out in the article, it's not really society's business to ensure that every single author gets to make a living off his books.

reimburse every author ten percent the retail cost for every book he has ever read from a library?
